Whoaa, slow down cowboy.

This is what exactly happened to me a few weeks ago. There is no way my new Rogue ( in my mind ) is messed up yet. So I went to this forum and found out it may be because my gas cap was loose. Personally I thought it was because I always double and triple clicked til tank was full (when filling tank) hoping to get the full orange bars. But I vaguely remember I twisted my gas cap only 1 click. Actually I did that; Thinking it was sufficient.
Instead of the usual few days (2-3)and half a dozen trips, mine took more than a week and over TWO dozen trips in the city. Then the Service Engine Soon light went off. I read that it went away faster for other forum members, but I was patient and thank god it disappeared. No problems since. Been filling tank a couple times making sure I twist gas cap to 3-4 clicks. Back to normal.
Read the Rogue gas cap, it actually says the service light may go on if the cap is loose.
Surprise, surprise, I actually read that AFTER it happened when I was bored filling up.
Hope my experience may help.
ps- I re-tightened, but I had to wait to refill the tank and wait awhile still. I speculate that this is because it needs time to re-adjust the pressure in a newly filled gas tank. Any experts out there please chime in as this is my layman view.
