Check engine light came on tonight on the way to the store. I have 3/4 tank of gas, haven't refuled in a week. Oddly the light came on the same time I hit 666 miles. Must be bad luck. I guess it's time for a Nissan visit. I'll keep you updated.

If you want to save yourself a trip to the dealer, you can pull the diagnostic code and clear it yourself:

Make sure you write down the code so I can look it up for you.

Whoaa, slow down cowboy. :stickhit: This is what exactly happened to me a few weeks ago. There is no way my new Rogue ( in my mind ) is messed up yet. So I went to this forum and found out it may be because my gas cap was loose. Personally I thought it was because I always double and triple clicked til tank was full (when filling tank) hoping to get the full orange bars. But I vaguely remember I twisted my gas cap only 1 click. Actually I did that; Thinking it was sufficient.

Instead of the usual few days (2-3)and half a dozen trips, mine took more than a week and over TWO dozen trips in the city. Then the Service Engine Soon light went off. I read that it went away faster for other forum members, but I was patient and thank god it disappeared. No problems since. Been filling tank a couple times making sure I twist gas cap to 3-4 clicks. Back to normal.

Read the Rogue gas cap, it actually says the service light may go on if the cap is loose. :ohsnap
Surprise, surprise, I actually read that AFTER it happened when I was bored filling up.

Hope my experience may help. :yesnod :dogpile:

ps- I re-tightened, but I had to wait to refill the tank and wait awhile still. I speculate that this is because it needs time to re-adjust the pressure in a newly filled gas tank. Any experts out there please chime in as this is my layman view.

Just got home from Nissan dealership. Here's what my receipt says. Mileage in: 671.

Scan system- retrieved code P0463 and P0725 - Engine speed and fuel level sensor/circuit performed confirmation procedure No 1st trip DTC code detect could not confirm - no problem found at this time. Reset NO codes at this time.

Well I'm not clear on what all that means, but the light is now off.

As I side note: I drive very little. I last filled up at Shell on April 4, 2010. I've driven 93 miles since then. I have not touched, changed or messed with the gas cap since April 4, 2010. (I purchased brand new on Dec. 15, 2009 with 42 miles on tachometer. Now I have 675 miles.)

The check engine light came on while driving to the grocery store, which is 1 mile away and remained on until Nissan Service did their thing. Also, the Rogue drives perfectly and I haven't noticed any differences.

Fortunately for me, the Nissan Dealership is 2 miles from my house. Their waiting room has free WiFi and coffee. I bring my laptop and I'm content. Doesn't bother me to wait, they are very nice.

There was a tech bulletin for P0463, but it only applied to "08 Rogue's.

Unless it re-occurs, I would not worry about it any further.
