I jsut bought an S14. Its stock except for an HKS Super Drager exhaust. The check engine light has been on since I got the car, but it seems to run perfectly fine. Could the exhaust be causing this? Is there any way for me to make it turn off? Thanks!

im in the same boat as you man, i tried replaceing the O2 sensor but it didnt do ****, and as we dont have odbII in our car (well some of the later 95's did) we can't just stroll into autozone and have the little computer tell us whats wrong

you try using the ecu to tell you what code you're getting?

did the ground wire on the ehaust come off when u installed the new exhaust, if i am not mistaken (oon s13's atleast) the o2 sensor has only 1 wire, which means it is grounded to the exhaust, that might actually throw an 02 sensor code. also chec what code the comp. is throwing.

I didn't install the exhaust, I just bought the car recently and it came with it. How do you check what code the ECU is throwing? How would I check the MAF, vaccuum lines, etc? Where is the O2 sensor grounded to the exhuast so I can try to check that?

the ground is made by the o2 sensor being screwed in. on the exhaust (near the cat or on it) i believe there is a flat silver probably black w/ dirt or grease that goes from the exhaust to the chasis

Here's an FSM, it'll have all the info you need for ECU code reading.
