check engine light is playing games

my check engine light has been comming on and going off in the past two days, never has it stayed on for longer than 45 min, today was the shortest amount of time 2 min??? wtf is it playing games with me 4, well should i take great concern? i hear it is easy to check to see wht it is ne one have this happen before?
