Check Engine Light for Infinit G20

Hello All,

I am new to this site..

I bought an Infinit G20 (2002) used one from a dealer. A day went by and now the car shows a Check Engine Light on, and my mechanic tells me that the error code is P0040A EGR problem.

The dealer is ready to fix the problem, but I am not sure if the error code means anything serious.

Any thoughts and suggestions are highly appreciated.

Welcome aboard!

The EGR is part of the emisions control. It effect anything greatly, but it can hinder performance and gas mileage. It may simple be a sensor that is bad or the system needs to be cleaned out.
