Check Engine Light (ECU) and codes.

Is it possible to clear the check engine light thru the ECU ?? I popped the panel and looked at the codes but this is my first time so I wasn't sure how to read. I did as some instructed here and turned on the ignition and changed ecu to diagnostic mode. Does someone have clear instruction on how to read the 89 ECU Blinks.

Search. There are a couple threads here about ECU codes and there is a sticky in either this or the 240+silvia forum that has links to all the manufacturer manuals in it, which will have the codes.
