On my G50, I can't seem to pull the codes for this particular CEL, I keep getting the no fault found code (0505) It'll come on while cruising on the highway and I won't feel any hesitation in throttle response, or it may be too little to notice, but then it'll sometimes go out and everytime I turn off the car and then immediately start it up, the CEL is off again. Before starting the code is 0505. What could be causing this intermittent CEL?

Recent changes:-new knock sensors-new sparkplugs-new oil and oil filter-new fuel filter-new air filter-2 new fuel injectors-new transmission fluid and filter-just went through a full tank of 93 gas with fuel injector cleaner treatment, now on just 93 gas-cleaned throttle body and intake plenum

Are you getting the P0505 code which belongs to IAC valve or is it P0000 ? How do you pull the code?

Ok now the CEL is coming on after about 30 minutes of driving and always when I'm on the highway cruising. I notice the CEL is on right after I try to accelerate a little and the downshift isn't as responsive, like a slight delay. When I turn the car off and immediately start it back up the CEL is off again. What is going on? Possible tranmission code? I'll try pulling codes again before starting it back up after the CEL has been tripped.

Can't say for sure on OBDII, but the codes should stay stored for 50 re-starts. Autozone and such places say they'll pull the codes for free (but won't clear them).

I was lucky enough to get the code pulled today. Light came on while driving home from work and I was able to quickly pull it by shutting the engine off but not turning the key all the way to the off position and quickly putting it back in the on position without starting it. I got the 0302 code which would be EGR Function. Time to get my hands dirty again.
