Ok I've been driving the car around (RB25) for a few weeks now and have occassionally (50%) been getting a check engine light that pops up. Typically, it will go away when I am on the gas and light back up when I'm off of it. When I am driving at a constant speed, it will flicker on and off randomly. I turn the car off and get the ECU to blink off the code and it always says 55. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that mean everything is okay? pssh, what does that car know about my life anyways?

There is no indication that the car is running irregularly except for the fact that I am getting about 10 mpg. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the coolant not being 100% bled, which I will do again tonight, or possibly my O2 sensor.

NOTE: I have to turn a switch on and off to manually ground my ECU relay so that my sensors get power. My ECU doesn't do it itself because there is something wrong there. But when I close the switch, it will start and drive.

ect sensor is proly going bad, horrible gas mileage and erratic mil but no code are some of the usual symptoms.

I was leaning towards that and then the O2, but that should throw its own code. That would be sweet if I could get the motor to run leaner. Right now, the power levels off at about 5000 rpm, then I just shift... :paceing

In the stickied parts thread, the last post discussed whether or not a Z32 or a KA would work and have the same resistance. Has this been verified? I can pull the one from my KA to check tonight, but what about the Z32?

all nissan ecu temp sensors carry the same resistance, its the thermal transmitter for the gauge cluster that differs.

I changed the ECT to the one off of my KA and it still does the same thing with the same frequency (50% of the time). I can't imagine I would have two bad sensors and for them to act to the same degree of fault.

Any other ideas? Does the Z32 or KA O2 sensor work on the RB25 and use the same size/style of clip?

I think you should take that PowerFC that's collecting dust in your basement, plug it in and get some more detailed information on the problem. You'll be able to see voltage on all your sensors, and status of each sensor.

Plus, wouldn't that also solve your ECU ground problem??? I'm not sure about that one, but it's worth a try.

PowerFC magically solved ALOT of my problems, but it didn't make my ex-wife any easier to deal with. Damn!
