Check Engine light came on tonight.

i just got a 92 240sx super hicas, and me and some friends took it out for a spin, after my friend drove it doing dough nuts and some sliding, the check engine light was on, what does this mean? i let it cool off and it went away. later me and my friend were going home and it came on again...but we didnt slide or anything. what could be casuing this? thanks
