Knocking motor means bad bearing(s), and that means its time for a rebuild or new ka. (or a rb/sr swap)

No, it will proably throw a rod and leave you stranded. Stop driving the car the motor is soon to die, and as I said in my last post it needs a rebuild or it needs to be replaced with another low milage ka.

Also how long has the oil light been on, and when was the last time you checked the oil?

Had same problem with 2 240sx's of mine. Take mine and his word for it, get that fixed now. It will cost you a pretty penny but if you don't get it fixed now, you'll have a blown motor on your hands and will cost even more $. It will only get worse. First, it gets louder and louder.... then you will start feeling a power loss... and then you start feeling the knocking in the pedals....after that it blows. Or, it could be like my most recent one and just blow within a matter of minutes. Anyway, for now drive it very easy and start thinking about how your going to get it fixed. Of course this is assuming that is the problem, and not some loose timing chain guide, or clicking valves. Take it to a mechanic ASAP IMO.

It really varies on how well you take car of it/ modify it/ drive it. I have a friend with a KA-T with 170,000 miles on engine, over 20k on the turbo setup, running 10psi. I am running 10psi on my 100k KA-T. Only been turboed for about 6k. I have heard of some going 200k w/o major problems. There are too many variables.

Anything with rust is not worth 5 grand.

Why anyone would continue to drive a vehicle with the oil pressure light on is far beyond my level of comprehension. You might look in to getting a bicycle when your engine blows up.
