check engine light an Po448

I recently bought a used 2008 nissan pathfinder se with around 53K miles. After driving for a while a have the Check engine light come on. I checked it to be the P0448 that deals with emissions and the computer program I used gave me the following messages
MIL On
Stored trouble codes have been detected
EGR System: Incomplete
Secondary Air System: Incomplete

(Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit Shorted )

Can any one tell me if this is a do it yourself fix or should I not bother and take it in to the shop? Thanks any help is appreciated.

well both systems are easy enough to work with... but the question is WHAT is wrong with them? is it as simple as replacing the shorted circuit? can't really be sure without looking into it

Dig up a copy of the FSM and dig in. And with an '08, are you still on warantee (Emissions stuff probably has a longer warantee).

I called nissan to tell them about the problem to ask what they think it would cost but they wouldn't even want to speculate or listen to the codes I had. So I took the system apart and cleaned it with compressed air. I had lots of dust come out of the fuel water seperator hoses evaporative cylinder. I checked the evap valve and I heard and saw it work. Cleaned the sensor on the cylinder as well. Put everything back and reset the code. I will just have to wait and see if it comes back.
