Check Engine Light after 5 speed swap (searched)

If i recall its CEL 86 maybe 84. Anyway my auto ECU is lookin for an auto trans. Id like to keep the auto ECU but the smog man will frown if i dont clear the CEL. I removed my auto trans control module to make room for my new clutchin leg. Do I have to reinstall that module?? Will it still be lookin for the solenoids???

Whats the fix?

Anyone need an auto trans and driveshaft cheap?

check for that sensor at the top of the bellhousing.

Well after staring at my CEL for a cpl weeks now, I decided to throw my spare manual ECU in to see what happened. No surprise , the CEL cleared.

On the way to work today I put the 240 through its paces. I noticed no difference on the seat of the pants Dyno. Supposedly there is timing curve difference between the auto and manual ECU?? A rev limiter diff also? I noticed nothing different. Any thoughts??

the auto ones have a higher limiter. Not 100% on the actual programs on the rom though.
