check engine? help.. evap solenoid control valve?

got this problem for a couple of days now and don't know what to do. does anyone here have a similar problem? need a fix for it that does not include going to the dealer. thx in advance

If it doesn't bother you then I wouldn't worry about it.

The evap control valve is essentially the valve that allows excess fuel vapor to be burnt after it is stored in the carbon canister.

Being in CA, it'll be a problem eventually cause he can't pass smog. It could be as simple as fixing a break in the harness. The solenoid could be bad too of course. See if there's continuity across the solenoid itself. If not, it's probably open circuit.
