well, i have all these damn ideas after its too late, seeing as how I have my CA20E pistons ceramic coated and my CA18 block bored already.... but anyway....

CA20E block and crank, CA18DE(t) rods and early *** (75 to 79ish)datsun trucks L20B (or L18) pistons. this'll get a CA20DET with a reasonable base for the bottom end without the super expense of forged rods.

lemme explain...... the L20B pistons are 85mm bore, 21mm pin diameter and 38.1mm pin height where as the CA20E pistons are 84.5mm bore, 20mm pin.

over bore the block by .5mm (.030in), re-fit the small end on the rods for +1mm pins. you'd have a slighlty lower c/r because the pistons would be 1mm below deck height.. but it'd be a CA20DET with CA18DE(T) rods and right at 1997cc's. could be fun.
