I've been rockin this set up for 5 months. Just to make sure it was good.

Q45 calipers with 3/4 life ceramic pads - $35 each (junkyard)

93 Altima rotors - $20 each

Everything bolts right on (brake lines etc) the hardest part is cutting the dust shield (that thing is SOLID).

pros - less dust , my front rims stay looking clean for over 3 weeks while the back look dirty after 5 days.

altima 22mm thick , q45 26mm , 300zx 30mm. all same diameter. Even with the thinner rotors , I thought I would have warped them by now but suprizingly I have not, and I can warp rotors trust me.

cons - couldn't find many aftermarket "racing" pads.

But for $110 I'm not complaining. Brake feel dramaticly improved as well as braking distance too.

The only thing I would do different is man up and buy slotted rotors, now that I know the swap works great.

Yea dude this swap is awesome, I ran q45 brakes on my s13 with hawk pads, awesome setup...

I am now going to run 300zx front calipers honestly because I got them for 20 dollars from a junk yard, and they look ballerific!!!!!!!

hey did you know bears **** in the woods. To bad this thread is not about 300zx brakes. It is about a very cheap semi alternative. If you don't have anything useful to add you can just STFU and go be a punk somewhere else.

I only posted my results to let everyone know how cheap this upgrade actually is. I searched , and there are still questions with "yeah or I think" type anwsers. Come on $110 people. You can't even get stock slotted rotors for $110 dollars (shipped).

This is about "the cheapest brake upgrade" not sticking "Ferrari F50 calipers with Porsche Ceramic rotors" on your 240. Cuz you could do that too.

I could have redrilled the q45 rotors but I needed a "bolt on" solution. The 93 altima rotors work great brand new ($20 bucks each) , so it kinda was a no brainer. Also junkyards are getting smart. They're eyes light up when they see dual piston calipers. The guy told me $250 for the Q's rotors w/ the calipers , because " that's a conversion 240 guys do" So I just grabbed the calipers and BSed the cashier guy about rust and leaking dust boots i'd have to replace. Walked out with perfect calipers for $70 bucks.

i think greeneyes paid like $35 for his calipers and rotors from a junkyard. it came out to be even cheaper then yours

i understand you need something thats bolt on but how pressed for time were you? i redrilled mine in less then 30 minutes

Yeah like I said junkyards here know about "conversions" they would not budge on the $250. Put it this way 300zx brakes was $400 front $300 rears. Total rip off but nothing I could do.

Didn't want to ruin brand new Q rotors by trying to drill them. Never tried it before. Took the easy way out. I wouldn't buy junkyard rotors anyway , they're always full of mud and heat damaged. $15-$20 each to cut them + 30 min to redrill them = not worth it. Maybe I should say "cheapest easist upgrade".

lol you dont worry rotors by redrilling them. the junkyard rotors greeneyes picked up were fine, didnt even need resurfaced. the junkyard i go to has the same prices for things no matter what vehicle theyre from

To actually have some more useful information in this thread instead of more crap, I'll just state that Endless makes pads for the Q45 set up. I ran Endless SS-S pads on my S13 when I had the Q45 set up in the front. Awesome pads. 115 miles of track and 3 hours worth of driving, no fading.
