Recently my mast broke. Went to the local parts shops lookin for a new one and all they had were 95-98 replacement masts. Called the dealer, they wanted $56 or something like that. I liked the $13.99 price better so I picked that one up. Got home cleaned out the antenna housing of all the broken pieces and went to put the new mast in (they looked the same) and here's how they differ. The 95-98 is about 1/16 to 1/8 smaller. Luckily I kept all the pieces of the broken one and here's the fix.
1. take the metal tube that stops the mast from coming all the way out off the old mast.
2. put some jb weld all the way around the outside of the new tube for the new mast and slide the old tube over top. let dry
3. slide the newly made tube over the new mast and replace. dont get sloppy with the jb weld or this wont work.
cost $20 bucks to fix instead of $50 something and its been workin great.
