Hey guys,

In reference to this thread: zerothread?id=122919

I was thinking of making a relay + switch that would disconnect the maf, in effect turning it into valet mode (not revving past 2.5k), however two questions:

1) Does this also apply to the ka engines (thread was about an sr).2) Is there much damage done while it is in "limp mode"? i.e. say you get your car valeted once a month/week whatever.

I'm considering this since there may be a few times it would be nice to take the girl out to a fancy restaurant and get car valeted... but once I get the ka-t in there, I don't want those fockers doing anything crazy... plus it's a cheap alternative to an expensive alarm w/ valet mode (which I will be getting again a lil later).

yes, go uplug your maf i dare you to get it above 2500, you cant. you could even just hardwire a switch in minus the relay, but if you can do it...

i'm not sure what limp mode does to your ignition timing iif anything at all, but you could probably figure that out searching. as for damage, it just makes your car run pig rich in order to try to keep everygthing cool and safe incase you are overheating, etc. little extra carbon if anything would be the damage. im sure it would be fine every so often no problem
