The turbos became unbalanced. The freaking thing is heavy, so i dont see it coming apart. They sent me a free replacement(after I paid for shipping)s13rb25det wrote:what went wrong with the turbo? was it the internals or did the housing crack? and did they give you a free replacement? I think I am going with a rebuilt t3/t04 garret turbo I found it for $300 shipped and its got a 1 year warranty. it seems a little small though its a .42 a/r comp, and .48 turbine
It definitely is a T3 inlet flange so it will bolt to the manifold. And I'm pretty sure the DP will work. JGS offers 5 bolt or 4 bolt flanged downpipes. Ask Lance at JGS for clarification...s13rb25det wrote:does the ams gt32 bolt up to the jgs downpipe and bolt to the exhaust mani? just wondering because this is the kit I am going with
I have never heard about using a restictor on a turbo...i am guessing this is why my turbo puts out a nice white smoke screen when i try and drive it. Did your friend have to have the seal replaced?Chezedik wrote:I am tired of people throwing their hats into the ring, so I will! Unless you have used one of these turbos, your opinion is worthless to the lad who requires it. Jack another thread if you want to speculate as to what is good and what is not, unless you have ACTUALLY used one. I have a friend using an SSAC turbo and had NOTHING but good luck. The only failure it had was when an oil seal failed (due to the installer not using a restrictor), fixed it and it runs fantastic with no issues.
Good choice! "You get what you pay for"s13rb25det wrote:Im just going to save my money and get a gt32 or a garrett t3/t04e I dont want to d!ck with the turbo more than once!!
