I have a 93 240sx se hatch. What is the cheapest set up i can do to get a turbo going in my 240sx. One that wont break in the next 2 years. I know i cant go above 7psi on stock internals.

1. goals for the motor2. cheapest? you'll need to go price shopping and check out classifieds. you're bound to find one going for an excellent price if you can wait.3. who ever said you can't go above 7 on stock internals and on what motor, what kind of turbo, etc.

The absolutely cheapest setup I've seen is:

Stock SR20DET Sidemount intercooler, piping and bypass valve.Probably needs rubber coupler to attach to KA throttle body, not sure.

Stock SR20DET T25 turbo with internal wastegate

SSAutochrome T25/T28 bottom mount exhaust manifoldThe older topmount manifolds have a reputation for cracking, but I've heard the newer bottom mount manifolds are actually decent. At $105 each I don't mind taking a risk, hell for the price I could buy a spare one.

Stock SR20DET turbo outlet and downpipeI would consider spending a few more bucks to buy a flex pipe and have it welded in to the downpipe by a local muffler shop, give a SSA manifold a better chance.

Stock SR20DET 370cc injectors

N60 MAF from a 89-94 Nissan Maxima TurboA guy on the ka-t.org forums realized this MAF and the 370cc injectors roughly cancel each other out and the car will run more or less around 12.5 AFR. Using 94 octane the car is drivable without any other form of management. Others have advised retarding base timing by 5 degrees and using an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to richen it a bit more to be on the safe side.

Its a little risky, but its definitely cheap. The guy, Jordan Gladman, put it together for $700.
