i have found a cheap turbo kit for sale. an individual has made the kit himself. he says its a complete bolt on kit including a fmic that made 176hp and 190ftlbs torque on his car. the only thing is he says you dont need an upgraded fuel system or ecu reprogram. it runs a little rich, even on a stock fuel system??? the turbo is set for 9psi. its a garret t3 is the only info he gave. he says his car ran strong and didnt have any problems with the kit. i'd like to know what you guys think of this kit.

all i can say if he's running rich at 9psi on a stock fuel system then he's running something like a 12:1 FMU which is cheap but not so great fuel control.

9psi on stock fuel system and ecu is stupid, you will probably blow your motor. and it only makes 176hp. thats terrible. i make almost 100 more hp than that at 8spi w/ my custom turbo setup. mine cost me $1400.

could you please tell me what and where you got the stuff to make your kit for 1400? i would be more than willing to pay that much if you say you have ALMOST 276hp at only 8psi. i was wanting 300-350hp. i was wanting an sr20det but if i can turbo my ka for a decent price it sounds like a good idea. its gonna cost me 4100 for an sr with install, because i dont have that kind of time to install one with my job.

damn daniel that is super cheap. My setup comes out to almost 3K. Hows the DSM BOV working out, need to crush it? I WISH I could do hack mafs, but I have an S13 DOHC...

If you could, it would really help me out if you explained how you did it so cheap. Places, shortcuts, etc. Even MORE so if I could email you my turbo setup list and you could mod it to make it cheaper =) Cuz I dont really want to spend 3K on it, but I was prepared to, Im only looking for roughly ~250whp at 8psi...

i never said 275hp wasnt very much, i only said that i wanted 300-350hp. someone help me out here, but if daniel240 is only running 8psi then you could boost the turbo to its max SAFE boost level. i'm not sure how high that is on an xs t3/to4e 50 trim. i've read the t-25 on an sr20det is safe to 13-15psi and it is set to 7psi factory. so you could boost the t3/to4e to its max safe boost and gain more horsepower if you wanted. i've read its appx. 8-10hp for every psi increased. so theoretically i could achieve my 300-350hp if i increased the boost from 8psi to whatever its max safe boost psi is.

Thats a very broad generalization at best. There are tons of things you have to consider. The biggest of which is the bottom end of the engine, which I guaratee you will not last long at a T3/T4s maximum efficiency level (just a guess, around 20-25psi?), unless you spent tons of money on forged internals and some sort of full proof fuel/ign setup. And considering you have the rest of your setup matching those boost levels, you should be well over 400hp. For 300-350whp, I think it could be achived at just around 1bar.

that is exactly what i'm trying to do at this time. i've searched but when you guys always use abbreviations for things i've never heard of and parts i didnt know you had to use it gets very confusing.
