hello, right now im using an safc2, and i think it kindof blows. i would like some timing control, so i was looking at emanage ultimate, but i read that it cant actually fully control timing, it just modulates the ECU signal. so next i was looking at bikirom. has anyone done a review on this yet? it seems like the next best cheapest tuning choice. i know aem and fcon and all that are great, but i cant afford it. any advice?

I like the idea of the Biki ROM myself, but as of now it is untested on the KA-T. I have no idea how easy it is to use, how effective it will be, or really even how far we are away from the product becoming available in its complete form.

It looks like a really cool product that should be capable of everything we would need, but right now NO ONE has tested it on a built KA-T that I know of so we're still in the dark about the product.

I thought that even the original Emanage could control timing. They sell the ignition harness. Am I wrong?

Both Emanages controll timing directly. The blue doesn't controll fuel directly. Not sure about ultimate.

You can get a blue with all the trimmings on Ebay for ~$200. Get a pressure sensor and it will work like a SAFCII + BTM in one.

emanage ultimate controls injectors directly since it has its own injector drivers.

as for bikirom, i have it installed and running on my N/A ka24de s14 and will be turboing in about 2 weeks.

Untested? I've been daily driving my ka-t setup with bikirom since September. I have a writeup that's nearly complete, but I'm waiting for Lucas (badbiki) to release his newest software version so I can have an up-to-date software overview in the write-up. So far it's like 20 pages... Worst part about BikiROM is waiting for Lucas to finish this software... but it doesn't mean it doesnt work, it's just not as fancy as advertised yet. The actual tuning of maps and stuff all works, so I don't see how it is "untested."

Well I stand corrected. Sorry BillKline, I had no idea anyone was actually running a KA-T bikirom right now! Hey, how about posting what you've got so far and then adding to it later on? I'd love to see what you've got to say about it.

e-Manage Ultimate can directly control individual injectors.

and,

Chmercer, if your really just looking to control timing under boost for a little money you could go with the MSD BTM where you can retard timing per Lb of boost. If i remember correctly you can retard anywhere from .1 degree to 3 degrees of timing per lb of boost. The only real downfall is the fact that the retarding is linear.
