I finally have pictures of my cheap strut tower brace for my 1994 Q45
I have had it on for a few months.
The addition of this brace made a 900% improvement over the handling. When I bought the car it had the "soft" Michelin 15" tires, with the factory aluminum wheels. I bought a set of used 17" x 8" rims with the Continental Sport Contact 245-45-17 tires. The handling was better, but I dod not like the tires. I bought this brace, and the front-end felt like I put 60 psi in the tires, and dropped about 1000# of weight. Now I have Nitto 225-50-17 NT450 tires all the way around, and it drives great.
The next setp is new struts and tension rods. 145,000 miles is probably the limit.
Anyway, back to the strut tower brace. I bought one for my wife's 2000 I30 off of eBay for $17.00 plus $15.00 shipping, and decided to get 2. They sold me the second one with free shipping.
After about an hour of light modifications, It fit the Q!
If you look at the pictures, you can see I had to drill a new mounting hole, and shorten the ears the hime joint bolts to.
Let me know what you think.
I have 6 more pics, if you want to see some more, shoot me an email:
