Nice find.I waited until there was a sale at Canadian Tire and bought one last year for about twice that amount. No regrets though. Works great and has saved me money in the long run.Once your friends find out you have one, be prepared to lend it out.

One thing I learned about these things, at least with mine, is that it doesn't work on a diesel.A friend borrowed it (like I said earlier, it's gonna happen), and he has a Passat diesel. He came back with it and said I had to buy a software upgrade in order for it to read his vehicle. (He called tech support for the product).Yeah right. Like I'm going to spend money so that he can borrow it.He's still a friend, but he doesn't borrow much from me anymore. I wonder why.

Awesome! That'll come in handy with that annoying O2 sensor.

As a follow up note, my buddy went to use this on his Dakota and he had troubles clearing his code until I pointed out the following:Key should be turned to ON (but not running) to read and clear, it will automatically clear your code after 4 seconds.

Hey There - does your code reader ALSO read teh 'monitors'. I.e. there are a bunch of emmissions related things that the car keeps track off. some code readers will tell you if those things have passed, failed, arent available on yoru car, or are not ready to be read yet.

the reason I ask , is that I bought a cheapo reader online also but the monitor reader just says ''not avail" for all my monitors (01 qx4) BUT it does tell me the monitor status on my wife's corolla. now Im wondering if the reader is bad or if my monitor electronics are bad!?!

There's been an influx of sub-$50 code readers lately. I saw this one at Princess Auto today for $38CAD: http://princessauto.com/_osn.c...EADER

Really, as long as it reads the codes, it reads the codes. My dad paid $200 for his and while it's saved him (and me!) money, for what we use it for he could have got something a lot cheaper.

Not that I've ever had any codes on my Pathy.

Most peoples CAI's actually pull more HOT air...... If your tubing is metal anyways, and the filter is in the wrong place, theres a lotta heatsoak under that engine bay with the wrong meterials

I bought a similar one maybe a year ago for about the same price -- around $30 or so US.

It's been great and I have used it on my Q and several friends' cars. It's too bad it doesn't do OBD I so I can use it on my Maxima, too.

I recommend buying one of these, though. Easy way to get information about your car. If it throws a SES light, you can have knowledge of what the problem is before going to a shop.
