I don't know if I've had bad luck or what but the number of times that I've replaced my hood bumpers (top of radiator support near fenders) is excessive. ther have needed replacement every 6-12 months. I bought a set from local dealer and two sets from IOS-all same result. So...

I went to the local Pull a Part to get a set of bumpers from another model car and while at the yard I passed about 10 early Q's and numerous Nissans looking for a decent used set and all had the same problem-crushed and broken.

I ended up with two sets from Mitsubishi's Diamonte and one set from a Mazda Millenia. All were aout the same vintage as the Q's but were in great shape. They fit perfect and install easily. Let's see if they hold up.

Next time try a 6 inch piece of fuel line. I stick one end in one of the holes on the rad support, bend it over a bit and the other end in the next. Works great, although I'll admit that it looks a bit heinous. But, I no longer watch my hood wobble at warp. Dealer wanted 22 bucks each for them. Not on my watch. I can buy a nice 5 pack of Monticristos with 45 bucks. Or 4 cases of Busch, or three 12 packs of Corona, or two fifths of bourbon, or....

A monthly application of 303 Aerospace Protectant on all rubber bits will greatly extend their life. Works wonders on window/door seals, bushings, hoses, underhood seals and weatherstripping. Interior use on leather seats, dash, door panels, and misc. trim will keep those looking like new also.

Where does one find this wonderful sounding stuff, outside of an aerospace supply house, which most of us likely don't have easy access to?Thanks Qship.

The 303 Aerospace protectant is found mail order over the net just about everywhere- locally it can be found in most boating stores, as it is extremely popular with boaters who need UV protection for their expensive toys.
