83k miles.. Has a miss, probably just an injector. Plan on fuel pump and guides and you have a hell of a car for the money.

Since they disclosed the miss they will probably not see more than 2 grand for the car.

The one with the funky rims. I saw it the other day. I remember the temp gauge being above the 1/2 way point. Nice seats though.

it could be the angle of the pic, and also Ive noticed that some Q's are different than others. My old Q temp gauge would hang out below 3:00 and my current Q hangs out at 3:00.

For someone looking at the car, not something I'd be concerned with.

Actually, that looks about right to me. On both Qs the needle is typically somewhere in the little squiggly lines (looks like a flag) when warmed up. I have checked the temp. with the Consult adaptor and it's right on spec.

John Irons, here, back in winter home down in low country. Guy you brought the 93 TCU to, some years back, and we met out on IOP.

I will pick up 90Q "donor" tomorrow, up in Campobello from BMW dealer, and haul it back down here to evaluate (since real estate market here is dead, I have plenty of garage space, not being able to sell either of the two homes on the market!). I sent you an email % your listed address, with some questions re your experience with valve train adjustment issues on the early ones. Would like to pick your brain on this issue. Did not buy car to drive, and, for $600, hard to go too wrong!

Thanks!

I replied to your email... you didn't get it? Give me a call at the phone number I put in the email if you want to stop by in Columbia tomorrow on the way back from the upstate. I have never adjusted anything in the valvetrain... I was just talking about a TSB that stated that some of the early production Q45s had some issues. My guess is that the noise would have cropped up early in the car's life vs. now at over 200k, so the usual abuse probably caused the noise in your parts car.

I'll send you another email with my phone number.

Take care!

Heath

Actually I see a caution in the pictures. The rear bumper cover is a different colour than the rest of the car. It may have been rear-ended which can create issues later in life - I remember some mention of body mount bushings or something. Maybe Carfax will show something.

If it was in NJ, I'd go for it. Try to talk it down as much as I could and list all the problems and subtract from the price accordingly. .

But that car is sweet.

If anyone happens upon a sub- $1k Q close to my general area, or at least in the Eastern Time Zone, let me know. I'm looking for a beater to work on and get my Q-skills up.
