Another option is to remove the bumper entirely and use a strong adhesive or even an industrial strength hot melt glue to secure the mesh.

Glad this post is still alive. This is a cheap cool mod. I did mine this week and looks real cool. You need small hands and to be patient to do it. Good luck.

So, now that I have a new Rogue I was thinking about doing this. My question is this, I see where you attached the zip ties on the verticals; however, wouldn't the top kind of get pushed back from the wind since there is nothing holding it against the bumper on the top part of it? I mean, the only thing keeping the top part of the mesh against the bumper is the zip tie on the vertical that rests on the middle horizontal, correct? I read that someone put it in the diagonals but I have no idea where that is.

No, it won't move (at least mine never moved).
If you are afraid of that, you can install one under the bar as well as above the middle bar.

Just in case you didn't see this thread... it includes detailed pics of the installation

I just bought a Rogue and I was concerned about the open grill. This is an awesome idea. I just got home from Lowe's, the mesh was $4 including tax. Will install tomorrow. What a great idea...

Our Rogue is black, so this should look really great.

I thought I transfer my home depot pixs here from a long ago thread of mine. Here's my story. For the life of me I could not find the gutter guards used by other Roguers at my Home Depot but I did find some cheap looking brown gutter guards that were like 3 feet across so I bought 2 pieces. So I reversed them because the gray underwire looked slightly black and better in reverse. Anyways, up close it may not look as good as the ones in here, but it looks presentable. Point is to protect from debris entering which it does. Using tie-ons, I never had a problem and it is very sturdy when on. Serioulsy you don't notice the tie-ons and I wash my front end alot.
Mine is just like this but it had the wire mesh already attached to it

There's another thread with silver mesh. I am debating on which way to go.....

Did you guys take the bumper out....Or just pushed it in there...?

I removed the bottom cover that has the plastic bolts. It also helps if you have small hands. Just alot of contorting & reaching while lying on your back. :spitout:

You can do it without removing the bumper, that is how I did mine. It takes more time at the end as it is quite complicated like that (like Casperfun said, small hands is a plus here), but it can been done if you are afraid.

I will soon have to remove the bumper for something else, so I will redo it while it is removed, probably moving to a silver look solution.

I really want to do this however my sole reason for it is the protection of the radiator from stones etc., not the looks. What I would like to know is that people here who have not done this mod, how many instances have there been of damage to the radiator, etc., due to stones flying through? I haven't yet read a single post on anyone being affected by this, I think the original poster did this due to another car (Honda Accord) having a problem of stones hitting radiators and condensers etc., However, I have not yet heard any Rogue owners having this problem.
