What year is your President? If it's like the 1990-1992 Q45 the transmission starts in 2nd gear. Changing the control unit out to one that starts in 1st gear is by far the best "bang for your buck" in Q45 modifications - coming in at about $50.

I'd have the rear suitcase muffler removed, but that may not fit with the President's style. It will open up the exhaust note a little and free up a little power.

a nico ecu would be on my list, but not sure if it qualifies as cheap. It's certainly worth it though.

I'm only looking for cheap mods for now as I need to save for manual conversion parts, coilovers, exhaust system will be one of the first mods I will do to release the v8 sound.what are the benefits of a nico ecu?

Nico ecu will not work with your model. You would need an impul ecu which isn't cheap. Cosmetics you can get the updated grille and hid headlamps

Saw an impul ecu in japan for sale, and you're right it's not cheap.

I have one myself. Doesn't work for my 92. Unsure if it even works for a lhd or usdm q45. Unsure if it even works at all as well
