Cheap Engine/Transmissionless Vert anywhere?

Well, my poor ol' Vert got Obliterated last Saturday. Back end is GONE. But being the Beast that it is, the car will still start up and back off a tow truck, turn around, and park. I wouldn't attempt driving it past that though, considering that the two back wheels are pointing at different angels.

Anyways, the engine and BRAND NEW transmission are still going strong to my knowledge, along with the rest of the front end and my carbon fiber hood. My plan is to buy back my wrecked car, buy a dead Vert (or any DOHC 240sx for that mater) with a decent body, and stick the working internals into it. Make a Franken40 of some sorts.

My little brother turns 15 in 2 months and he was going to have the Vert passed down to him as his first car, as it was mine. He is even more torn up about the car being totaled then I am (which is very torn up, I almost shed a few tears when I saw the car the day after in light ). A 240sx would be an awesome Birthday/Christmas present for him, wouldn't you think?

I've already scanned Ebay for anything that would fit the profile, but to no avail. Guys know of any around?

If you can trailer it, my little bro has a 'vert with a blown engine. It's got a 5 spd swap and some really sharp wheels (both items could be removed prior to sale if not wanted).

Car is in fair condition, given the non-running engine and a couple body issues which I will show in pictures. It's got 109,000 miles on it.. pretty good for a 93.

Damage areas.. Previous owner didn't touch up a paint scratch.. booo! The only major dent on the car is the rear pass. wheel well.. Fortunately it can be pulled straight easily since it's very accesable from both sides.

Only major rust on the car (in fact the only rust aside from the door scratch.. the headliner..

Finally.. the rear window is slit in half.. so far in fact that the tear extends into the rear window surround cloth as well..

Thanks guys, I'm trying to find one locally before anything else, kinda hard considering I live in St. Louis MO. Not many around these parts. I'm going to go look at a blown '92 Hatchback sometime next week. They guy says it just needs a new paint job, and It will be perfect body wise. I'm a bit skeptical, but he says that it didn't have a stock wing, so the hatch shouldn't have much/any rust.

I know of one in tx going for 1800, i'm not sure if the guy still wants to sell it, but it's black, s14 front seats, door pillar removed, power nothing, it's black.

Sorry about your vert man, first dexter and now you; sheesh, i'd better be on the look out.

Also are you willing to part it?? I'm in need of some parts myself...

I wish you the best finding a car. But I'm interested in the one somebody saw in Oregon. Can't find it on ebay. Know anything more about it?

we're in the same boat. i'm looking for another vert too.

did you check autotrader.com? last time i was on there, i saw about 20 verts for sale. most were overpriced and far far away.
