FYI

Tried a CAI with a monster flow filter. Power was good but the noise droned. Ended up putting a K&N panel filter in the stock airbox - but cut a big hole in the bottom of the airbox resonator. Sounds slightly throatier than stock but makes great power. Also, the K&N didn't make much difference. So for a fast 8 to 10 hp, just cut a hole in that resonator. Gas mileage jumped to 33mpg highway too!

The same reason no manufacturer puts a cai on a production car. Noise and chance of water damage...that said I did that on my GTO, k&N filter and ported the box(two hole mod) pre-filter...and picked up 16 RWHP. Its the same idea that a violent type intake on the cheap....
