Has anyone had experience with this pulley before? With this type of e-bay pulley? It seems so very cheap (well ifferent belts are needed) that's it's a crime not to get it, BUT what if it's poorly balanced, because it has been made by joe shmoe and not... AEM or whoever? So I'm wondering if anyone else has bought this type before. It looks CNCd and nice, and the weight reduction is amazing.

why is this the favorite response to all of my "has anyone tried this" posts, ately?i am surrounded by sissy girlie-men!

I am trying the e-bay clutch already, if I try too many questionable things and my motor goes south, I won't know what did it!

Someone try the pulley on their 200k+ mile KA, so if it vibrates and destroys the crank it won't matter.

I'm also trying E-bay rings and bearings (Topline brand). Who else is an e-bay test bunny?

I say dont take your chances with it because from numerous people that Ive heard from... you cant really feel any worthy power gain from installing them..

IMHO, not worh the risk, time, and effort.

Well, Im a huge fan of Ebay Intakes... Also, the Ebay muffler I got is great welded on to a custom 2.5" headerback exhaust... sounds as good as any RSR or Bee R exhaust Ive heard... but as far as actual engine components... In the words of a wise man... I dont think so Tim..

but it's SOOOOOOO light!

Lol.

The logic here is: I cannot afford a lightened flywheel. But I can afford this pulley. 10lbs off of the crank is 10lbs off of the crank. Get my point?Someone go try it already!

hehe,.. well, I have deluboz's rear subframe bushings. At half the price of SPL, I couldn't say no. Installation went w/o a hitch really, and machining was top-notch. I've also seen some greddy intake clones as well as greddy differential covers. Apparently they buy the part, make the mold and then cast it. Quality seems nice. I would try the pulley, but it's still too much :P

You can get an ASP pulley for $30 more and call it a day.

I'm a girly man, I got an Unorthodox one, worked great... til my car gained a couple hundred pounds, hahaha.

I am too. But one thing I learned, sometimes it ends up costing you more.

One of many examples:

Instead of getting $200 tein pillowball rods & $300 rear pillow ball upper control arms, I got ebay adjustable ones that have zerk fittings no one can find for $200 the set (saved $300).

Those are about to die I swear - I've tried getto greasing them, but to no avail - rust & clunking are starting to work its way against me.

I'm going to be spending the money soon to get the real stuff.

In the case of an engine pulley, why don't you watch the auction and see who buys it and email them about it . But if you get that one and it breaks (which I think it "should" be ok, as most ebay parts), it's gonna be much more expensive than the $30 you saved.

O yea, plan on spending about another $30-50 on new belts too. And some more if you break any bolts/brackets like I did. And some money on the crank seal, which you'll need to get or your engine will start leaking. It's adding up already, haha.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my engine, and it's probably that fact which will stop me from getting the pulley.the work and time i've put into it are not worth the saved $$ if the pulley vibrates and destroys my rebuild.

dammit

i hate being rational
