Bought these roof rack crossbars for my 2008 Rogue. They fit perfectly, and the length of 48" is great.

I believe I saw them on Walmart online for around $80, and Amazon for $120 or something.
I've seen them under the brand CargoMaster, as well as Reese, so it's a cheaper, rebranded rack, but it's holding very well, and doesn't make much noise at all. I do start to hear a hum at +120kmh but not bad at all.

Thought I'd share it in case anyone is ever looking for a cheap, adjustable and universal crossbar.

Google doesn't play nice, so you images are a no show. There are other imaging hosting sites (NOT Photobucket) that work just fine. Or you could just add them as an attachment from your hard drive.

Looks good. Thanks for sharing!

BTW, there's a TIME LIMIT for editing posts. If the edit button is gone, the post cannot be edited. Simply add changes as replies to your original post. Management had to add this restriction because a few bad actors were making unscrupulous changes to their posts (mostly classifieds).

Understood. I appreciate the heads up, I've not posted in a little while.

As for the bars, yeah I'm really liking them. I've not had the OEM's but when I saw that they are both curved and stationary, I decided to go aftermarket.

These cost me $60 used, not rated for much, maybe 100-150lb probably. I'm planning a camping trip so bought a rooftop cargo bag but was not satisfied with the idea of using only the side rails for securing the load.

Thank you for posting this! Especially the pictures! :)

I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue which we got used about 2-1/2 years ago.

But I've been thinking of cross bars to add to our Rogue. I was starting to look around for the factory ones, but no one has them or a compatible replacement.

But the more I thought about it, the more I thought . . . if I get a universal one, then there is a chance I might be able to use it on whatever else car we get down the road. :)

From your pictures, this bar looks like it fits well with the rails.

QUESTION: Does it seem like a firm fit? Really tight? Or is it a bit squishy. (IE . . . rubber on the attachments move around a bit?) Reading some comments on other brands, that was something I read here and there.

I've had a roof bag for forever. Had it to use on our 1997 Ford Escort Wagon. LOL. But stopped using it because we got a minivan shortly after that. But then this past summer, we had an extra passenger (daughter's boyfriend) along for our camping trip, and needed extra space. Our van had integrated cross bars . . . but I wasn't happy about attaching the roof bag just to that. It would have worked, but I decided to get a small Roof Basket.

https://www.maxxhaul.com/copy-of-70094

The roof basket has so many places to tie down to that I tied that roof bag down so tight that there was going to be no way for it to move at all. LOL.

So, now I got this roof basket which is the right size to fit on our Rogue, along with the roof bag. I've got roof rails. But just no cross bars. :( LOL.

Take care. :)

Hey, I used my roof rack and a roof bag for the last 3 days for a camping trip. I can tell you that the racks have held on really well, they're not rated for much force at all unfortunately (edit: I believe it's like 100lbs), but I accidentally used them to support my weight a few time while messing with the roof bag and nothing happened. They hold on really well, however my front one on the left side got a little loose after the trip, which I tightened back up easily.

I'd definitely recommend a universal over a OEM for the simple fact that it'll be straight, and it'll be adjustable.. When I learned the stock crossbars were stuck in place and curved, I lost a lot of interest beyond the fact that maybe it'll be prettier haha

All in all, it supported at least a 60 pound roof bag for 7 hours of driving, mostly at 120km/h, I was a happy camper haha

+1. Glad it worked out.

I've started looking at that rack for my Rogue.

I'm thinking, this is what I have been looking for. :)

I was originally thinking of trying to track down OEM cross bars.

But the more I think about it . . . the more I like to idea that I could potentially move them to whatever vehicle I get next. :)

I guess OEM may look more slick . . . but I am coming to appreciate practicality having a charm all its own! :)

Sounds good! I personally bought mine on Kijiji for about $60, I'd take a look online to see if you can find anyone selling a good looking pair locally if you don't mind it being used.

Good luck and happy camping

A question for you - I looked at the website for the rack, which clearly states and shows that it needs cross bars to attach to. How did you attach your rack without crossbars? I don't have cross bars, and it would be nice if I didn't have to buy them to use a rack like this.

Thanks,
Perfesser

@Perf-Em

When I used the roof basket, I used it on my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan that had factory installed roof rails with integrated cross bars. (Needed it for a camping trip this summer. Had an extra passenger this year so I put a table and our camping chairs up top.)

So . . . I didn't use the roof basket on my Rogue yet.

But when I got the roof basket, I got one that would work with the existing roof bag that we had and . . . was the size I'd want for my Rogue with the intention of then getting some sort of cross bars so I could use it on the Rogue down the road.

Kinda got the basket with the Rogue in mind because we were thinking we were going to be selling the minivan this year to get a tow vehicle for a trailer. So down the road, the only vehicle I'd want the roof basket for would be the Rogue.

Take care. :)
