Cheap 2-tone: parts swap opinions.

lets say i wanted to swap my hood, headlights, and hatch with a black 240 to get a cheaper-than-painting-while-maintaining-oem-quality 2-tone look...

has anyone done this, anyone have pics, opinions on the swap?

btw my car is a dark red se.

so you despise painting so much you are willing to change major body parts? That's a little strange man.

hood and hatch are easy changes. i dont know about healights, but i bet i could get it all done in one afternoon as opposed to waiting in line for days at a good shop to have just certain panels painted for lots of cash that i dont HAVE to spend... if it was something more major like quarter panels id say eff it.

the headlight covers are easier to change than the other parts. go ahead and do it...its a weird two tone though

Unless it's CF, I think it'll look like you are trying to get rid of hail damage/spoiler holes.

You'd probably still have to paint your roof black to maintain some kind of conformity with the colors also.

well considering i see a lot of guys who just have the roof panel black to match the pillars, i thought id take the next step.

if i ever do a sileighty it would be kinda cool to do a true s13 2 tone with the color line at the watermark. hopefully it turns out okay...

my next question is, is there anyone that would be willing to trade parts thats living in the tx area?

im thinking people who are going to cf hood, or people that are going to get paint jobs so it doesnt really matter to them. my pieces are in excellent condition, no hail or scratches @ all.

edit: yup id be painting my roof panel black to match, but that shouldnt take long or cost too much.
