chassis rust??

i wanted to swap an sr20det red top into my 1990 nissan 240sx hatch. the thing is my chassis is rusted!!i went to go get the motor put in but when they lifted the car there was alot of rust on it. he said they couldnt do it because the sr20 is too powerful and could twist the body or chassis is this ture????i still want to have it done can it be done?? i also have lots of rust in other spots ill post some pics when i get my camera back so i can show you guys what im talking about for now any suggestions will be of much help thanks alot!! -ROCKY

umm my suggestion is to just have a pretty experienced welder weld some high strength steal plates on the chassis in the typically weaker areas and sand down some parts and weld come more and then spray it with a rust inhibitor...other than that idk...good luck...im not a pro but thats what i am thinking...

Your frame rails must be incredibly rusted and unsafe if a stock sr20 would twist the chassis.

Like SR20 said you need to cut out peices of your rail and weld new peices in.

But in the end it might just be cheaper to buy a shell and swap a sr into that.

this might sound stupid but i dont know what a shell is where can i find one??

Look in the buy and sell threads for a shell..Which is what 180fan a non running car.
