I've got this charing problem. when ever i dont drive my car and let it set for more than one day, the battery will be competely dead. I've put 2 new optima red tops in it, new alt, grounded the piss out of it, and still the same thing. Nothing is on. Any help please! BTW I have a s14 with s13 redtop if that matters.

There has to be a drain somewhere. Start looking.

get a voltmeter and hook it to the battery and pull the fuses one by one until you find the one that has a short. This will help you narrow down where the contact is being made.

Get a full size battery. and see if the problem goes away, i went through the same thing...i know alot of people use those small batteries and don't have any trouble, but i did.

I will be relocating the batt. to the trunk when i go FMIC.

My optima is full size located in the trunk, but i have also used a small battery up front because i thought that the drain was because of the long wires running to the back. The only difference between the full size battery in the trunk and the small battery in the engine bay was the small one seemed to turn my motor over faster. Ive worked on this thing almost all day today and still nothing. Any more suggestions would greatly be appriciated. Thanks!

did you look into that fusible link i mentioned? and also is this "new" alternator you put in...are you sure its actually even good? maybe the problem is your alternator and the one that you recently put in was bad too..the only thing i can think of when you have charging problems is bad battery, bad alternator, bad grounds..check your fuses too...but since you already did these then i would make sure that alternator is actually good go have it tested and look into that fusible link

I've had a similar problem actually. My car did it for a while then i had another problem, the accesories wouldnt turn on when i started the car. they would sometimes just come on after a min of running. but it would only do it sometimes. a while back I replaced the alternator with a KA alternator and it worked. but then the ignition deal started up again. The car sometimes looses charge and I gotta jump it then when it's on it's all good and get around 12 volts. I checked nearly everything and just kinda avoided it and hoped it wouldnt come back. lmk if you find that fusible link and if it was the problem. That could be...

btw mines the same. S14 with s13 redtop
