charging issues?

ok so my 94 b13 xe is starting to act up lately. randomly at idle the brake and battery light will come on and a weird clicking noise will come from the interior fuse panel area. i replaced the alternator but it still does it. if im on the gas its fine, but at idle it frwaks out. this is my third alternator and 2nd battery and the problem persists. any ideas? maybe a bad resistor? if so what resistor goes to the alternator? BTW. i did remove my a/c unit and the (ground?) wire to it is just tucked away, does that wire need to be grounded for the alternators sake?any help would be awesome.

IF I was me I would try hooking the ground back I dosen't hurt to try I wish you GOOD LUCK!
