Charging Battery

My Q has been sitting for a few months. When I tried charging the battery the lights start flashing when the charger turns on. Any thoughts why?

sure,it is the factory alarm system activating if you are talking about the Headlights......connect charger then take key and insert in drivers door and turn to lock, then unlock position, it should stop. Bad idea to let battery discharge, as every time it discharges it causes a little bit of permanent damage to the battery- invest in a small smart charger to keep battery at 100% charge when not regularly driven. Ctek, battery tender, or battery minder are all 3 proven brands.
