I took my charcoal canister out because I knew I wouldn't pass smog, and I didn't have any other place to mount my oil catch tank. Now, I'm not 100% sure, but I think that gas is leaking out of that hose that went into the charcoal canister. I can smell gas when I'm driving, and I thought there was some gas on the ground under my car today.

My question... should I hook up the vaccum line that is supposed to go from the TB to the CC directly to that line that is currently venting (the one from the tank)? Will that cause any undesired or ill effects?

How hard is it to make a relatively stock SR pass smog? Test pipe is out of the question i assume. Not that it really matters at the moment, because we don't even have to test for emissions up here in Santa Fe. A little some thing to make up for the horsepower robbing altitude. 8300 ft baby! But If I ever wanna move to Cali?

I also need to know this. I just finished installing mine and wondered if that same hose was going to be a problem.

yeah, I have an update as of today too. I took out my charcoal canister and threw it into my junk pile on the porch. I took off the vacuum lines and stopped them up at the source and put a big plug in the line from the gas tank. As it turns out, the main line coming off of the TB had a big crack in it and was leaking and now that I took it off my car Idles smooth as silk.

yeah, my canister's purpose was to spill gas all over the fvcking place and try to catch my car on fire.

I say no thank you to that one, so I threw that sucka out. So far so good...

oh yeah, if I were a ricer I would say that taking it out also provided weight savings and list it as a mod in my sig :D
