I'm going up to 17 inch wheels and I was curious about how this will affect the TPMS. When going to a larger setup, in this case 15 to 17, what do I need to keep in mind?

The Nissan OEM TPMS sensors may not fit all aftermarket wheels. If that is the case with your wheels, you need to either replace them with aftermarket TPMS sensors, or run without sensors and live with the light on all the time.

Is there any way to know if they'll fit beforehand? I haven't gone to pick up the wheels yet. Or is it just a case of trying when I go to put 'em on? I'm not really familiar with the sensors... what they look like, how they work, where they are, etc.

Perhaps some of our members who have actually changed their wheels could shed some light on this. I'm under the impression that the pressure sensors are part of the valve stem assemblies on these things, but I could be horribly wrong.

Yeah, I'd definitely appreciate anyone that knows what the deal is letting me know. But your guess is way better than any of mind, so until I heard differently, I am going to assume you are correct.

Might have something to do with low profile tires as well. I used a 15x7 inch rim and used a spacer to acommodate for the wider wheel. tire size is a 215/50 R15. No problems here
