I purchased a 2001 Nissan Maxima in great condition other than the transmission is bad. It is the five speed. I've changed other transmissions before. What I'd like to know though is has anyone done one and is there anything that makes it a total pain aside from other fwd cars.

Welcome to NICO.

It should be pretty straight forward. I've replaced multiple engines and transmissions on 4th gens, but the 5th gen should be no different.
