I could be mistaken, but i believe the automatic transmission takes automatic transmission fluid, not gear oil.i240sx wrote:so it 8 quarts for auto transmission and is it the same fluid grade?...thanks i need the info too.

I can't believe people recommend Redline in every single thread about transmission fluid.TrukillaS14 wrote:I got a 95 240sx 5spd, manny transmission . I should use Redline MT-90 2.55 quarts of it right? Not 8-9 quarts
because amsoil is harder to find. they are only sold locally to authorized dealers & there is no one in my area. i think you can order amsoil through summit. but my buddy gave me 3 qts of redline mt-90, so i used it. my car shifts fine, no worries at all.94_240sx wrote:Why why why and why? yup thats how it is in most places. in my area there are only 2 shops in a 40mi radius that sells redline, & my friend owns one of the shops . & my trans is stock & has 206k on it, other than not being able to rev match into 1st, my trans operates perfectly.94_240sx wrote:It wasn't easy for me to find Redline either. One racing shop in my area was selling it and that was about it.
