:D It's that time! When changing my transmission and Drive shaft I should change Filters, fluids, Transmission mounts, rear seal?(not sure if I have to), rear exhaust brackets, torque Converter and use 14 quarts of Mobile 1.

What else should be done to a 255k 92 Q45. This is the origional transmission and drive shaft, so I want to do this right.

Always replace the rear seal when pulling the transmission Very little extra labor, and it's a $5 part. There's also some sensors on the transmission that are prone to leaking.

Yeah I would replace the speed sensors on the top as well.. Even for an extra $50, its worth it IMHO...

Getting transmission From Glenn...(aaacomp)

What kind of sensors leak? This is something I should ask about before the thing gets shipped right? This is my only ride and I can't have too much down time to order more parts.

Will be getting Drive shaft and later, a Rack& pinion from Joe who says the deal for the R&P is very good and it does sound good.

I shouldn't have any problem with JDM transmission and a drive shaft from Joe should I? I mean they should match up good right?

The turbine revolution sensor is the main culprit. It's located on the upper left side of the transmission, and requires removal of the transmission to replace. There are some alternative methods (like drilling through the floorboard) and stretching the motor mounts within a milimeter of their breaking point)but it's much easier to replace with the transmission out of the car.

Thanks, I would never had known about a turbine revolution sensor.

The turbine sensor leak is a sneaky one, as the fluid travels down the cord and appears to be coming from the rear seal.

Glad you found a trans closer- and mine is still available, for you west coasters.

I couldn't remember who had the idea, so I'm glad you came in to take credit for it!
