changing transmission fluid

hey guys its time for me to change my fluids and i have drained my transmission already but where is the filler plug located? and how do i put the fluid in? i hear i need some kind of pump to pump the fluid in is that true??

On the side of the trans if I remember it's on the passenger side haven't changed the fluid on mine in awhile. For future knowledge it's always a good idea to make sure you can remove the fill plug before draining the fluid.

ok thanks. how do i fill it up? would i be able to use a small funnel?

You will need to figure out a way to pump the fluid up in. Or use a real long hose to get the fill neck higher than the fill point lol.

A turkey baster with squeeze bulb end and a flexible hose attached will probably be your solution...and researching the entire process you are about to undertake will definitely benefit you in the future as the Z32 is a very complicated machine, and many of the general maintenance tasks are well laid out in various writeups on the web such as the Online Service Manual, Robo's, and TT.net. :dblthumb:

thanks guys. I just read somewhere about using a compresor so i will try that out. Now the fluid was black and doesnt seem like it was ever changed… should i also replace the filter? if so how would i go about that? also what is a flush do i just fill it up with fluid drive the car and then drain it and add more fluid? thanks guys its really hard to find this information online i feel like when i search for miata stuff i get a thousand step by step procedures…

+1 same rule applies to the diff. Always make sure you can remove the fill plug before draining.
