When changing tie rod boots..what is the technique for greasing it? do you "pack" the boot? or just slide some on and then throw the boot on?

Are you talking about the tie rod ends with the ball joint or the inner tie rods?

not the bushing on the end, but the boot or `bellow` on the rack.

Don't fill that with grease.

Put some around the ball joint, and that is all you need.
