First question:-Do you see photos in any of the other threads?--If yes, then I can't help.--If no, then go to the next question.

Second question:-What error do you get when you click on the photo link?--If you don't get the error below, I can't help you.---"File attachments can only be linked from the message board server; ---Outside linking is not allowed."--If you do get the error above, then follow the steps below.

RESET FORUM COOKIES:1. Start your browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, Firefox, whatever)2. Point the URL to "www.nissaninfiniticlub.com"3. Press the "Log In" button: ( "www.nissaninfiniticlub.com/zerouser?cmd=login" )4. Enter your Nico Username & Password & press the "Login" button5. By the way, for the umphteenth time, I logged in and did not see any photos in this thread (again getting the error mentioned above when clicking on the photo link itself).

I skipped all the steps above, and was able to see the cookies simply by running the URL below into my (Netscape) browser:

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....ookie

Hope this one URL works for you.

Quote »i still can't see photos even after resetting the cookies in the user cp option. Is there something else I need to do[/quote]Folks on the "general chat" forum suggested that those who use "nicoclub" vs "nissaninfinitclub" seem to have better results with pictures:http://www.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=90374

So, if you still don't see the photos in the brake thread, try the URL: http://www.nicoclub.com (instead of http://www.nissaninfiniticlub.com) & let us knowthe results.

Thank YOU for asking the question!Changing "nissaninfiniti" to "nico" has been working like a charm for me.I see all the photos now, first time!

By researching your question, I found a better answer. So, both of us (and anyone else listening) benefits from our efforts!

I got started on changing the rear pads on my Q today and now have answers to all my questions! I know one thing for sure, I'll never let anyone else work on my cars again! You'll learn why if you read on.

Remember the guy said he claimed to have just installed new pads all the way around right before I bought the car? In reading through the paperwork, I found he took it to "just for Brakes." The must have replaced all the pads except the right rear. Remember how everyone thought it was strange that I was hearing the sound so soon after the sensor? The idiots at Just for Brakes must not have had any pad in stock that would match that special sensor pad and so they just didn't change it! Can you believe that $#!%! I'll go one further, judging by how frozen the bolts were over there, I don't think they even tried. To top it all off, my rotor now must be turned and I can only pray that it will still be at least 8mm. I've always joked that how would you know if someone didn't do something unless you looked, now I know. From now own if you want something done right, do it yourself or carry it to T3 I guess!

The good news is that I'm now over my apprehension of not being able to work on my Q. There was just something about it that intimidated me. I guess in my mind I just saw it as such an advanced machine that I wouldn't be able to do anything to it. Once I got the wheel off I thought, I can do this. I mean jeez, I was replacing rear drum pads on an 83 GMC S15 last week. Disc brakes should be cake.

Interesting obervations...

The Q45 is a very heavy automobile! My little jack that has never failed me couldn't lift her. I put it under the rear end housing just like always, and it started jacking up, but couldn't actually finish the job. I had to jack one side up at a time. Oh well an excuse to buy a new floor jack!

I had anticipated having alot of rusty parts under there that would need painting, but everything looked great. No rust, no nothing. How great can a 10 - 11 year old car look.

Oh, and the tip about the caliper spreader........what a great little tool. For only $8 I was able to get this cool little tool that just cranks the piston back and then I can leave it there to insure the piston doesn't get knocked out or anything!

I'm carrying the rotor to the shop tomorrow, I'll keep you updated. Thanks for everyone help. Without your help I wouldn't even know that the rotor must be a min of 8mm.

Well in case you're following this I've gotta replace my rotor. See thread http://nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=90560

I'm buying the tool to measure the rotor and see how much wear is on it in hopes I won't have to buy two new rotors. I've just about decided on just going with OEM rotors. With the exception of AZHITMAN's brake setup and some ideas of using a J30 brake setup, eveyone seems to like the OEM rotors. The choices of rotors is being discussed in thread: http://nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=90406 Since the other two alternatives are more expensive unless I hear something definitive from someone against it, I'll probably order OEM parts, from Joe of course. My local parts guy is ....well you can guess what I'd say.

Since "Fly by Night Brakes R Us" didn't replace the right brake pads (I'm assuming due to the sensor,) I've become worried about the front pads since they too have a sensor. The rotors look fine through the wheels, but I'm gonna jack the front up, pull the wheels and check it out too! Now I don't trust anyone else's work.

Looking for the bright side, I'll just go ahead and rotate the tires while I've got all four off!

How could something so simple turn into such a mess?

Took the "good" rear rotor off and carried to it the shop to measure it. (I was very surprised to learn how expensive those tools to measure this stuff is!)

Checked the front pads and rotors last night and they look great!

The driver's side rear rotor was 0.348 inches. Since the new rotors are 0.350 inches I think I'm just going to go with buying the one passenger side rotor. The difference is only 0.002. Do y'all think my logic is sound?

Please let me hear your opinions.

You're fine.

Always bothers me when parts built to one standard of measurement are measured with another.
