I've bought some LED lights to replace the normal ones in my rear license plate lights. Do I have to remove the silver trim on the trunk to get the plastic pieces off or can I pry them off with a screw?

I don't know for the Y33, but the owner's manual usually has pretty good instructions for bulb replacements in the DIY section. You should be able too download a copy of the manual (if you don't have one) from http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti

I would love to see some before and after pics of your LED lighting...

you gotta take off the grey carpet interior trim in the trunk. then unscrew the screws and reach in and push the plastic pieces out. once you have them out unplug the plug.

No you don't. I actually just did this mod last week and it looks great. 5zigen, below is step by step.

1. Open up you trunk so you can see both plastic covers above your tag.

2. Unscrew the two bolts holding each plastic cover in place.

3. Once you have both of the plastic covers off, pull both lighting fixtures out so you can grab the bulb

4. Grab the old halogen bulb and pull out, snap the new LED in.

5. Turn on headlights to make sure they light up. If they don't light, flip the bulb around so the positive negative are in the correct location.

6. Push the lighting fixtures back in place.

7. Put the plastic covers back in place and tighten the screws again

8. Enjoy!! Two people have asked me where I got my lights from and I love the way they shine at night.

BTW, which led's do you have? I have the white 5-led installed and I changed out my interior lights right above the two back doors. I'm waiting for my map lights to come in now. I would put a pic up but I don't know how. I hope this helps.

With the Y33, you have to pull the carpet to change out the tail lights bulbs though. BTW, I'm not a chick . Maybe you can help me out with something, do you know how to post pics?
