Ok so I own a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V and im changing the alternator, i took out the old one and the new one is in place, but the long bolt at the bottom that holds it properly in place is not going through.

It goes through the first side but wont thread the other? Any tips cause this is annoying ive been trying to line it up but i cannot catch the threads!

Perhaps a mod can move this thread to the Sentra section forum so you can get the expertise of those folks. Pics might help out too (old alter vs new alter).

Just speaking from general automotive knowledge, have someone else idiot check you. Hold the old and new alternators to each other to make sure they are the same, and make sure it's going back the same way, like the mounting points on the alternator either capture the bracket's mount points, or they are offset one side or the other. The bushings in the alternator or bracket can come out and prevent the bolt from going all the way through.
