A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Hello,

I am new in this community .

I would like to change the CD player of my Sentra 02 with Sentra 04 in order to have an Aux. Input for my IPOD.

Does anybody know how to change the CD player?

Thanks,bj1972

Get the 04's headunit and the trim surround for it. Pulling apart the dash itself is pretty easy, but I'm going to have to find a picture to explain it better.

Thank you very much for your reply.

If you find picture for me, I can definitely do it by myself. Looking forward to see the pics.

Thanks again,bj1972

I've attached a pic that explains it. The Allen head is either a 20 or a 25, I don't remember and don't have the instructions I used handy. I looked for a scan of the Crutchfield instructions like I have and couldn't find them.

Anyway, it's easy as pie. The trim surround for the head unit just clips into another piece of trim (the one below it around the AC controls) that is screwed into the metal frame.

Hope this helps!

Fantastic. I have those instructions, but couldn't find a scan of them anywhere, and I don't have a scanner myself. Thanks Dank! I'm going to copy those images into a thread in the ToC later for future easy reference.

Just get an aftermarket head that has integrated Ipod controls and get the control interface that connects to it. You can stash it away in your glove box and not have to have the extra cord to keep it charged for those long trips. You also get cleaner sound from the interface since it connects to the back and not through the head phone plug.

Hi spddemon,

Could you tell me the name of the aftermarket head? Do you have a Nissan Sentra? If yes, how is the fitting? Isn't it ugly?

Thanks

I have an 04 with the pioner DEH-P3900MP, everything fits up pretty well just have to trim a little off the back of the frame. It makes a HUGE differance in the sound quality tho. Ill post a pic when I get home 2nite.

Make shure you get some good quality allen heads they put those screws in tight and I bent the heads on the cheap a$$ ones I bought
