I have a 90 240sx with an open diff. I have onef question on changing rear diff fluid. Do you have to pump the fluid in or can you just pour it in?

You will probably need a pump to get it in, as the fill hole is in kind of an awkward spot to have the bottle up there.

make sure the car is level and on stands 1 or more feet off the ground.

unscrew the drainplug and drain all fluid out

keep the drain pan underneath the differential, even when filling.

put plug back in and unscrew the fill plug, get a peice of 1/2" wide plastic clear tubing from a hardware store or home depot. about 3-4 feet will do. also when you buy the oil make sure the container has a "pointed" or "coneshaped" pouring spout.

put the end of the tube in the fill hole and snake it up through the suspension and up around the wheel. (now you can stand and fill it :).

pour the oil in through the tube to fill the differential. when you hear/see oil dripping into the oil pan from the fill hole you know its full
