I looked at your FSM and it looks very similar to the Q45 base front suspension. Judging by the info on pages FA21 and FA22 the assembly can be removed without compressing the spring. I don't think the order of bolt removal makes much difference as long as you don't remove the center bolt on top of the strut until you've got it out and in a vise. Here's the condensed version for strut removal on a 90Q45:>> Jack her up and remove the wheel>> Remove the 3 nuts on top of the tower. Do not remove the center nut.>> Remove the lower bolt.>> It's ready to pull. You should be able to wiggle it out but may have to have a 2nd person push down on the front brake/rotor assembly to give you a bit more room.>> Take it to the work bench and use spring compressor.
I was surprised that the assembly came out without compressing the spring first. It's a lot easier to use the spring compressor on a work bench rather than installed on the Q. Good luck.
