Where is the oil filter on the 2007 Altima 2.5? I crawled under the engine to find it and there is so much stuff there I could not see it. I hate paying big $ to have someone change oil when I have been doing this myself for 40 years!

I can tell you where it is on the 3.5 which may not be relevant to yours:

The arrows indicate 3 of the 5 plastic pieces that need to come off from the passenger side wheel well to remove the plastic shroud and get to it.

We need a 2.5 person to validate if the pic is even relevant.

i recently changed my oil myself just for fun even though i get them free at the dealer. but its kinda behind the brake rotors. its white if that helps haha and the opposite side of the end that screws in is facing outward toward the wheel.

It's on the passenger side. If you crank the steering wheel hard to the left you can actually see the filter up above and to the left of the suspension. The filter is horizontal and pointing out towards the wheel. It CAN be changed with out removing the wheel or the plastic liner between the wheel and the filter. I have been using a Napa Gold filter on mine.

Once I change the oil how do I reset the maintenance reminder on the dash?

Sorry man but i wouldnt use anything from Napa. They sponsor Michael Waltrip. That dude stinks so bad. He is a disgrace to the waltrip legacy....

Actually the Napa gold filters are pretty darn good.

Get the silver one though - it's pretty much the exact same thing for cheaper
