Where is the oil filter on the 2007 Altima 2.5? I crawled under the engine to find it and there is so much stuff there I could not see it. I hate paying big $ to have someone change oil when I have been doing this myself for 40 years!

now its been a while since ive worked on a 2.5 but it should be on the passenger side of the engine under a plastic cover, its hard to find initially but just look on the right side of the motor, its horizontally mounted

i recently changed my oil myself just for fun even though i get them free at the dealer. but its kinda behind the brake rotors. its white if that helps haha and the opposite side of the end that screws in is facing outward toward the wheel.

It's on the passenger side. If you crank the steering wheel hard to the left you can actually see the filter up above and to the left of the suspension. The filter is horizontal and pointing out towards the wheel. It CAN be changed with out removing the wheel or the plastic liner between the wheel and the filter. I have been using a Napa Gold filter on mine.
