Well if you have taken the under engine cover (If equipped) then just reach up and get it.

lol, you make it sound so easy.

i always removed the lid from the airbox and unscrewed the filter from the above. i also ran bigger filters so it was easier to grab, too.

Considering the large amount of oil that pours down when you remove the filter....how do you clean it all up if you are not removing the bottom engine shield?

bottom cover absorbs it all, that's what that fabric stuff is for, haha

filter never dumped that much oil taking it off, anyway. i always took the cover off so it didn't matter if oil dumped, i did the filter from above cause it's way easier.

I use a floor jack and four jack stands, remove the road shield, then it's pretty easy. Actually the car is supported at the 4 jack stands with the floor jack still under the differential, and a 5th jack stand under the front crossmember, just as added security.

It's important to look under the car to check for leaks periodically, and I rotate my tires myself at each oil change... it keeps my wheels and hubs away from impact wrenches. There is also a theory that the MAF connector is not designed to be removed 4x per year, and that the added stress is a possible cause for the connector failures.

I also turkey baster exchange my P/S fluid and clean and lubricate the antenna mast at the same time...

Heath
